**The Holt Community Education Office is located in the Midway Early Learning Center at 4552 Spahr Avenue, Holt, Mi. 48842.**


Normal Office Hours:  8:00 am - 4:30 pm M-F


Child care/Preschool Registration:  8:30 am - 4:00 pm, M-F or by appointment


Summer Hours:  8:00 am - 4:00 pm M-F

Education is ongoing - and encompasses far more than academics.  Holt Public Schools believes in providing educational and enrichment opportunities for all members of our community, at any stage in life.

Holt Community Education has an online registration system!  You can view information on youth/adult enrichment classes and aquatics lessons at or click on to register!

Kindergarten Readiness Information - It's never too early to have a great start!

2016-2017 STAR LEARNERS Preschool (Great Start Readiness Program)

FREE 4 year old preschool for qualifying families


We are now accepting applications for the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) for the 2016-2017 school year.  Families may apply online at or by calling 1-855-644-PreK (7735).  We encourage families to submit their application online or by phone, but we also have paper applications available at the Holt Community Education Office as well as available below in PDF format.  Paper applications should be delivered to the Holt Community Education Office at 5885 West Holt Road, Holt, MI  48842.


Please note the following registration requirements:


Child must be four years of age on or before September 1, 2017, but not five years of age
Child must reside within the Holt Public School District or any Ingham County School District (consideration will be given to in-district families first)
Family must meet program eligibility criteria as determined by the State of Michigan


This program is licensed by the Michigan Department of Human Services and funded by a grant from the Michigan Department of Education in conjunction with the Ingham ISD.

  • Childcare Registration Information and forms need to be completed in the Community Education Office to ensure they are filled out completely and accurately. The  Childcare Registration Information form is only available in the Community Education Office.  *Please note that current immunization records are required at time of registration.*  Other necessary forms may be printed from the links below and brought to the office, however, they are also available in the Community Education Office.
